Control Valve Authority Basics & Sizing Information

Valve Authority is a term used to describe the basis on which a valve is selected. The Valve Authority (N) is generally defined as the ratio of the pressure drop across the fully open valve compared to the pressure drop across the entire circuit (including the valve) at design flow conditions.
